RADON MONITORING
* Professional electronic radon monitor machine with tampering feature is used.
* We are Certified by the National Radon Safety Board # 5SS0032 as Measurement Specialists
* We conduct 100% chain of custody testing of the radon content in the home per EPA protocol.
* We place the electronic machine under the proper EPA testing conditions, we pick the machine up after 48 hours (not clients, Realtors or owners as this is not their responsibility, it is solely ours). This ensures our clients of a fair and accurate test. Some inspection companies use passive cannisters and ask the clients, Realtor or owner to complete the test by sending in the test kit to a lab. This saves a trip back to the home for other home inspectors. WE, on our second trip back to the home, look to ensure all doors and windows are still in the closed position. If any are open the test is invalid and the client is informed. Will other folks left with this responsibility do this? Did they wait 48 hours?
* Many bogus tests are conducted because the chain of custody is not under same person or company who administered the test. Having professional training to conduct the tests properly is a big bonus for our clients, most inspectors do not have this credential. In many states you have to be licensed to conduct radon tests.
